Postcards to Politicians
Originally this section was called "Postcards to the President", but at the suggestion of my speech 'evaluator' at my Vegan Toastmasters club, I began sending them to other policy-makers including Madame Vice President Kamala Harris (who DOES already engage in a 'Vegan til Dinner' routine), and Congressman Sean Thomas Casten, who has devoted a large part of his political career to environmental issues.
I also include a 'packet' in each order I send to any ceramics customer that includes one of these postcards, a quote or 2 from my quotes by illustrious vegans and vegetarians throughout history (please scroll ALL the way down), a yummy recipe, and a flyer for my friend Diane Rose-Solomon's website www.whatsplantbasedcooking.com (see below also) I am also eagerly awaiting the opportunity to tout my friend Vivian's soon-to-be-released book of incredible poems I'm Not Vegan but my Cousin Is!

who wrote a postcard a day during President trump's first 100 days, then another 100 towards the end of Trump's presidency, I have taken on a postcard writing campaign, urging President Biden, his wife Jill and his VP to include reduction of environment-destroying meat production in his anti climate agenda. " Protect and defend your Mother " We all need the Earth as our Mother and home
But unless we make changes she soon will be gone
The reasons are varied but mostly it's greed
And we just close our eyes, we don't want to see
Some say that they care but is it really true?
If you ask them to do something they don't want to do
Like stop eating meat - they just shake their heads no
And if you persist they say," Go away! Go! "
But this is one measure that we all can take.
And believe me when I say what a difference it can make!
Make A Difference!
But unless we make changes she soon will be gone

" Let's Live to See Another Day "
The Earth is getting warmer and this is not okay
Life as we know it will soon have gone away
Who knows what we'll be doing, or if we'll even live
But there's something that we all could do
So this good tip I'll give
If we would all stop eating meat things might just turn around
And what was almost lost for good could just in time be found
Your carbon footprint would decrease 50% you see
And I'm not sure, but that could be exactly what we need
To keep our planet livable for us and everyone
Cuz ever increasing climate disasters, really they're not fun
We can all do it, yes we can, no matter what you say
So all our future Generations can live another day
Animal agriculture emits more greenhouse gases than
all forms of transportation combined

" Do the Right Thing "
Some things we need to face our tough
and doing what needs to be done is rough
But often there's not really a choice
So to this idea I'll give voice

I think by now we all must know
The climate's in crisis, yes it is. So...
We each must help and do our part

You'll be healthier and what's more
Your karma will have a much higher score
Eating animal products you must stop
"But," you say, " we're at the top
Of the food chain " Yes this may be true
But it's up to me and it's up to you.
So do it now don't be a fool.
Besides, killing animals is cruel
Peace begins on your plate
I think by now we all must know
The climate's in crisis, yes it is. So...
We each must help and do our part
To bring things back. Please, have a heart!

To save the planet, so we must

unless we are selfless enough to choose
A plant-based path, and this I'll say

Than it was in times gone by
